“With three words, Jared Leto has stirred up DC Comics movie fans…”

Jared Leto is going to play the new Joker character in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, and when a fan told Leto that he reminded him of Batman, Leto told the fan, “Batman is dead.” So… wa Leto just be douchey and not minding his manners… was he kidding, or just making an offhanded comment?

Or, …gasp! Was Leto hinting that Batman is getting ready to die in the DC Comic Universe, –or at least, the cinematic universe. In most universes the Batman is still alive… but will Joker actual kill Batman? Sigh. I wish I knew: maybe Leto was just being douchey to a fan and it all meant nothing. Thoughts?

Pop parodist will pay the Dollmaker in upcoming DC animated film

Ermagerd! Sounds incredibly weird and creepy. No one has a voice like Weird Al; he’s always distinguishable, in like, any setting, and should be pretty interesting. Oh, by the way, if you’re not a Batman comic or cartoon buff: the Dollmaker was a villain in 2011 on the Batman cartoon.

The Dollmaker is the son of a cannibal serial killer, and his whole thing is that he kills people and sews their body parts together. A bit dark for cartoons? Naaah…. The idea is sort of like that movie May (2002); if you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out. The Dollmaker makes… dolls, out of his dead victims.. after chopping them up and sewing them back together.

In the franchise-driven world of blockbusters, many will be expecting upcoming superhero movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to be the first of at least two parts.

Ben Affleck’s Batman will only appear fighting Superman once… or he’ll at least only be doing it once in this movie. Everyone’s been running around, terrified that we’re going to have to wait a year between movies (or more!) to find out who wins (you know who wins if you read the comic) or what happens to resolve the issue… or shit, why they get in a fight in the first place.

I loved the Superman movies and I believe that at least that actor will stay the same. I don’t care to see Affleck as Batman but hey, every other male actor in Hollywood has had a chance, might as well let someone else have a turn.

How could DC make a perfect Justice League? We need Darkseid, Aquaman, Wally West & more!

This is actually part of a series on the source site for “Make It Better” –some things need a boost, and some ideas from fans, and Justice league is no exception. Personally, I think more directors and producers should listen to fans: we know what we want to see, ignoring the comic book nerds and geeks out there is how we end up with movies that suck big time.

Some of the ways listed in this are bringing in Wally West, the successor of The Flash, –a movie if not a show, –because there is too much separation going on in the DC universe. Another option is to make Aquaman more available to the masses: we want to see more of him, he may be old but we didn’t forget him!

CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler shares tidbits from the network’s Supergirl pilot, currently in development and looking to cast its lead.

Oh boy, so there’s no Supergirl for Supergirl yet? Oh gosh, does that mean I still have a chance? Hey. I’m blonde… Probably not in the shape required to look as good as she does in skin tight -everything- with several inches of exposed midriff. So… no. Probably not my destiny to play Supergirl.

There was a chance that the chick from The Originals who plays Rebekah was going to play Supergirl, but now the slot is open again. I hope that the lack of actress doesn’t cause issues for the future of the show.

As we’ve seen, Warcraft is definitely a cultural icon now, and expect the movie and the novel, there will be another Warcraft themed comics!

I just dunno, y’all… I was never really that into World of warcraft, to be honest. It seems like the kind of game you climb into and don’t leave until you’ve died of starvation or infection from bedsores. It also seems like it would get boring, I mean, you play the same game over and over and over, and yeah, the objectives change, but there’s no real story, it just goes on and on.

But I guess that’s where the book, the movie, and the comic series comes in. They put together a coherent story that way you don’t have to, when you’re playing the game.

If you love Superhero movies then you are in for a treat because for the next 5 years there will be 21 between the Marvel and DC franchises.

Things to be excited about for neutral parties who don’t pick sides: Wonder Woman, Doctor Strange, Aquaman, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2

And you know, all the other movies in those lists, but to be fair, I’m just saying, –those are the movies that I am the most excited about. I hate that we have to wait so long, like another two years, to see the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I mean… I dunno how much I’m going to be into something called “Ant Man”. But that’s just me, I guess.

“We now have a very real scenario where Captain America 3 might actually out-gross Batman v Superman domestically and worldwide…”

Eh, no. Sorry: you guys, I should reveal myself right now by saying that yes, as a chick, I have certain loyalties, and those loyalties lie with Batman and Superman. The movies are better, always have been. I mean, Batman and Superman have ALWAYS been the more successful franchises. Since this is a Forbes source, they obviously care more about which movie will make more money, which decides the supreme winner: BvS or IMvCA.

This is the ultimate battle right now guys, Marvel or DC; I love Robert Downey Jr., of course, but I could definitely take or leave Captain America, and Thor is just… ugh, I was over it before it began. Batman and Superman can win this… so. Prove me wrong.

“Might NBC’s Constantine have hired a Breaking Bad alum to play a well-known villain from DC Comics?”

The DC Comics TV show Constantine is on TV and way awesome: don’t get me wrong, I love the movie, but we get to explore a lot more of the comic’s canon by watching the show, and finally, there’s an identity for Felix Faust; one of DC’s super-villains: Mark Margolis.

If you don’t remember him from Breaking Bad, or for some reason didn’t watch the show (I bet you didn’t watch The Wire either, you sicko) he was a wheelchair-bound, ancient OG named Hector Salamanca who used a lobby bell to communicate. Fun right? You’d think this would make him fairly harmless, but alas, not so much. I can’t wait to hear him in a speaking part, personally!
